Love was in the air at the wedding of Amy and Jennie. After being a couple for 11 years, they and the guests were so excited to be a part of this celebration.
Although some of the guests and I had difficulty getting to the Mingo Lodge in Sand Run Metro Park because of road closings, the energy was high.
Green, white and black were the wedding colors with Amy wearing an “emerald” crown. Jennie was lovely in a full-length white gown and veil. Both women carried beautiful bouquets.
The wedding party was wonderfully diverse with the Best Man being happy to hold Amy’s bouquet during the ceremony. And a fun and sweet element was that the ring bearer and flower girl were Jennie’s grandparents. Her grandfather pushed his wife in a wheel chair while she strew flowers in the aisle.
At the rehearsal, the couple presented me with a great t-shirt that says “Reverend with PRIDE” that I will wear proudly. It goes with their shirts that say “Bride with PRIDE.”
This was one of the most joyful and fun weddings that I have ever performed and will always remember. Wishing them so much love and happiness.
